London: Rafia Arshad, a British-born Pakistani woman, has been appointed the first judge in the UK to wear the hijab.


According to Global News, British-born Pakistani woman Rafia Arshad became the first judge to wear the hijab. Rafia Arshad, 40, was appointed deputy district judge last week.

Rafia Arshad, who has been in the legal field for 17 years, said she initially feared being discriminated against because she was from Pakistan.

He said that many women wearing hijab wrote congratulatory letters to me and my appointment would boost the morale of women wearing hijab.

Barrister Rafia Arshad said that discrimination is still faced at times, there are flaws in the system regarding discrimination.

According to Rafia Arshad, when she started going for interviews at the beginning of her career, her relatives forbade her to wear hijab and told her to take it off.

After training in London in 2002, Rafia Arshad joined the St. Mary's Family Law Chamber in 2004.

It should be noted that Rafia Arshad is a mother of three children. Barrister Rafia Arshad is also the author of a book.
