Fear of Karunaka, 300,000 people quit smoking

In the UK, more than 300,000 people quit smoking due to fear of the corona virus, and more than 2.4 million people have quit.

The United Kingdom has the second highest number of coronary heart disease deaths in the world, after the United States, with more than 30,000 deaths so far.

According to a survey conducted by YouGo in the UK, more than 300,000 people quit smoking out of fear of the expected effects of being infected with the corona virus. In addition, more than 500,000 people tried to stifle their desire to smoke during quarantine at home, while 2.4 million people practically reduced their smoking.

27% of those surveyed say they are now more convinced to quit smoking. A quarter of past smokers believe their chances of starting again are slim. In contrast, only 4% said that loneliness increased their smoking habit.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in late March that smoking increases the chances of a person being infected with the coronavirus and passing it on to others, while smoking weakens the human respiratory system. This increases the chances of being infected with the coronavirus because it infects the human lungs in particular.
